Mike Doherty, owner of The Junkluggers of Greater Mid-Michigan franchise at 4019 E. Baldwin Rd. in Grand Blanc Township, cuts the ribbon on the new addition to the business, the Remix Market. Doherty was accompanied in the opening ceremony by store manager Trice Berlinski, Doherty’s son, Eric, and members of the Grand Blanc Chamber of Commerce. The Junkluggers, an eco-friendly furniture and junk removal service, opened locally in 2021. The Remix store opened in March. “We do whatever we can to keep things out of the landfills,” Mike Doherty said. The Junkluggers recycles and donates everything they can from clean-outs. The new store will allow them to raise money to donate to their designated charity, Dream Centers of Michigan – Pontiac. Dream Center is a nonprofit, Christ-centered organization dedicated to helping young people through after-school programs, vocational training and more. The store will be open from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. on occasional Saturdays. The next market will be June 7. Watch The Junkluggers’ Facebook and Instagram pages for updates. Eventually, Doherty said he hopes to find a permanent location for the Remix store.
