Temp rises in Indore, Ujjain div ahead of expected cold spell - The Times of India
Indore: Ahead of another spell of cold winds from the north, temperatures across Indore and Ujjain divisions climbed above normal. Various parts of the division experienced partially cloudy skies, with early morning visibility reduced to 800 meters due to mist.
According to the Meteorological Office Indore, Thursday's maximum temperature in the city was recorded at 27 degrees Celsius, one degree above normal. It was two degrees below Wednesday's day temperature. The minimum temperature stood at 13.9 degrees Celsius, four degrees above normal. At 8:30 AM, the temperature was 16 degrees Celsius with 86% humidity, and visibility stood at 900 meters. By 5:30 PM, the evening temperature dropped to 24.4 degrees Celsius, with humidity dropping to 56%, and hazy conditions. Wind speed was recorded at 6 km/h from the north.
Other cities in the region recorded varying temperatures: Dhar reported a maximum of 28.6 degrees and a minimum of 15.2 degrees, Khandwa recorded 31.1 and 14 degrees, Khargone 31 and 14.4 degrees, Ratlam 28.2 and 12 degrees, and Ujjain 28 and 13.8 degrees Celsius.
The recent weather pattern saw stable conditions in Indore, with daytime temperatures hovering around 28 degrees Celsius and night temperatures consistently around 13 degrees. However, a shift in weather conditions is expected, with temperatures likely to drop by 2-3 degrees from January 25 to January 28 due to the influence of northerly winds.
Meteorological department officials have advised residents to brace for cooler temperatures in the coming days. Dr Ved Prakash Singh, Director of IMD Bhopal, said, "The northerly winds will bring a noticeable dip in temperatures until January 28. Many parts are also likely to witness shallow to moderate fog."
