The TCCIA Internal Audi tor, Mr Ronnie Mwaipasi, said embracing digital VAT systems across Africa is crucial for boosting business efficiency and improving tax compliance.
“Digitalisation is not just a technological shift; it is a catalyst for financial inclusion and economic transformation,” Mr Mwaipasi said on Tuesday during a panel discussion in a high-level VAT Digitalisation Seminar organised by the African Development Bank (AfDB) in Nairobi, Kenya.

“Embracing VAT digital systems will streamline pro cesses, enhance transparency and empower businesses across the continent.” TCCIA ICT Officer Mr Florian Mihyo said the seminar reinforced the importance of digital infrastructure in enhancing trade facilitation and operational efficiency.
