Tata Motors and Maruti Suzuki, two major Indian automakers, have announced price increases for their vehicles starting April 1, 2025, citing rising input costs and broader economic pressures. Tata Motors' increase—up to 2% across its commercial vehicle range—will vary by model and variant. Both companies pointed to rising input costs, operational expenses, and inflationary pressures as the reasons behind the price adjustments.
“Tata Motors, India’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturer, today announced a price increase of up to 2% across its commercial vehicle range, effective April 1, 2025. The price increase is to offset the rise in input costs and will vary as per individual model and variant,” the company said in an exchange filing.
Maruti Suzuki, India's largest carmaker, also announced a price increase of up to 4% for all its vehicles, effective April 2025. The company attributed the increase to several factors, including the rising cost of raw materials, increased logistics expenses, and general inflationary pressures.
