Syrian security forces kill three Alawites, burn homes in Latakia raids
Syrian security forces carried out violent raids on two villages in Latakia province, killing three Alawite men and setting fire to homes and vehicles, according to the so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
The raids targeted Bayt Aana and Al-Daliya in the Jableh countryside, where security personnel reportedly torched dozens of homes, a school, a commercial center, and a sports club.
During the operation, two young men, including one with special needs, were shot dead, while a third man from nearby Batmoush was found with a fatal gunshot wound.
In Al-Daliya, three homes were burned, and several young men were detained.
Authorities confirmed that the security operation aimed to target suspects involved in an attack on a telecommunications center in Al-Daliya, announcing multiple arrests.
The raids followed recent deadly attacks on Alawites, highlighting ongoing sectarian violence since the overthrow of former President Bashar al-Assad in late 2024.
