Suzhal: The Vortex - Season 2 OTT Release Update: A second season of this hit Tamil crime thriller is in the works and is expected to premiere on Amazon Prime Video soon. While the official release date has not been confirmed, a 123Telugu report suggests that the series will be available to stream from February 21, 2025.
The first season of Suzhal: The Vortex debuted in 2022 and was well-received by audiences and critics alike. Created by director duo Pushkar and Gayathri, this series is set in the fictional village of Saambaloor and follows a thrilling investigation involving a missing person. Following the first season's success, the makers announced a second instalment, which will carry forward the story.

Season 2 will supposedly revolve around a new case involving the murder of senior activist lawyer Chellappa, who had defended a character named Nandini. Sakkarai, a key character from the first season, is called to assist the family in this investigation. Set during the Ashtakaali Festival in the town of Kaalipattanam, the case will dig out long-held secrets from the past.
Suzhal: The Vortex explored the investigation of a missing person and combined elements of local mythology with the whodunit genre, keeping viewers on edge throughout. It featured eight episodes and was praised for its suspenseful narrative and strong performances. Bramma G. and Anucharan Murugaiyan directed the show which even featured on Variety’s list of top international TV shows (2022).

The second season will feature Kathir reprising his role as Sakkarai, alongside Aishwarya Rajesh. Other notable cast members include Lal, Saravanan, Manjima Mohan, Monisha Blessy, Samyuktha Vishwanathan, Gouri Kishan, Monisha, Harini, Shrisha, Abhirami, Nikhila and Kalaivani. The series will be directed by Brahma G. and Sarjun, with Pushkar and Gayathri continuing as creative producers and showrunners.
