Fans of TV’s “Superman & Lois” fans are about to get the epilogue they want when the show’s stars, Tyler Hoechlin and Bitsie Tulloch, appear at the Big Slick Celebrity Weekend next week.

The CW series finale, “It Went By So Fast,” aired in December. And by now we’re not really spoiling anything by noting that both Clark Kent (Hoechlin) and his love, Lois Lane (Tulloch), died at the end and reunited in the afterlife.

The two stars were announced as guests on Friday, rounding out a roster of more than 40 actors, comedians and musicians coming to Kansas City May 30 and 31 for the 16th annual fundraiser for Children’s Mercy.

The guest list is full of returning guests — yes, Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are coming back — but also includes notable first-timers Keenan Thompson from “Saturday Night Live” and Jay DeMarcus from Rascal Flatts.

This year’s event will have a bittersweet feel to it with the death this week of “Cheers” actor George Wendt, who had appeared at the first and most recent Big Slicks. Wendt was the uncle of co-host Jason Sudeikis, aka Ted Lasso.

Sudeikis and Kansas City’s A-lister celebrities — Eric Stonestreet, Heidi Gardner, Paul Rudd, Rob Riggle and David Koechner — have raised more than $25 million for Children’s Mercy with big assistance from their well-known pals.

Last year’s event raised almost $4 million, a record, setting the bar high again.

Two events make up the weekend.

The Big Slick Celebrity Classic Softball Game will take place on the main field at Kauffman Stadium on Friday, May 30, before the Royals play the Detroit Tigers. Everyone with a Royals ticket can watch the softball game, which begins at 5 p.m.

The Big Slick Party & Show, the weekend’s main event, is Saturday, May 31, at T-Mobile Center. The raucous event includes musical performances, skits and an auction for big-ticket items.

Tickets, starting at $75, are available at bigslickkc.org or T-MobileCenter.com.
