Sumona Chakravarti reveals her punch lines weren't impromptu but scripted in The Kapil Sharma Show, says 'I used to also remember Kapil's lines' | - The Times of India

, who plays Kapil Sharma's onscreen wife, collaborated with him on several of his comedy shows. While many
Indian television comedians
have spoken about being spontaneous on Kapil's sets, Sumona admitted that it was all acting for her, and that everything was scripted.
During a recent YouTube interview with Small Towns Big Stories, Sumona Chakravarti discussed working with scripts. When asked about her method for executing comedy on The Kapil Sharma Show, the actor revealed that it took a long time because comedy was not her preferred genre.
“I have my own personal sense of humour, but my personal sense of humour won’t suit this show, it won’t work here. So for me, it was genuinely pure acting. It took a lot of time to do it,” shared Sumona.
She added, “Hume jab script milte the, I was one of those people, I used to sit with pen and paper, highlight, read, memorise word-to-word because punch lines hoti hai. And more than that, I used to also remember Kapil’s lines as timing is also important.”
The actor also stated that even if an actor improvised during the shoot, she would bring it back to the script. Sumona enthusiastically said that Kapil Sharma used to admire her a lot since she remembered not only her own lines but also his part in keeping the program going.
On the work front, Sumona stated that she is currently looking for different roles in films or on OTT. The actor has been out of the spotlight for some time now. She last appeared on
