From a visual point of view, the game may seem simple, but this impression is deceptive. The locations are drawn with love, and the design is bright, stylish and very atmospheric. Each area has its own unique look and mood, which makes the descent into the depths of the earth not only interesting, but also visually diverse. The soundtrack matches the visuals – it is unobtrusive, but perfectly maintains the mood: somewhere it helps to concentrate, and somewhere – to relax and just enjoy the process.

And, of course, we can’t help but mention the humor. It is soft, friendly, and appears as if in passing. Sometimes these are short phrases of characters, sometimes absurd situations, but all this works for the atmosphere and makes SteamWorld Dig 2 especially cozy. As a result, this is a game that you want to return to. Not because of intrusive tasks or “grind”, but because each new meter underground gives a feeling of discovery, each upgrade brings you closer to a new frontier, and each step is a small adventure in a world where mechanics and style go hand in hand.
