Published 1 month ago9 minute read

The games at this stage are more interesting as they can be crucial for the final standings in Regular Season. Despite we already know who is stronger and who is weaker, there may be still last minute surprises and upsets. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most important game in the last round took place in Changwon between second ranked Sakers (29-18) and fourth ranked Sonicboom (28-19) on Saturday night.

Sakers were defeated by Sonicboom in a tough game at home 65-69. It was a good game for the former international forward Jeonghyeon Moon (195-2001) who led his team to a victory with 14 points and 9 rebounds. The former international guard Hoon Heo (181-1995) contributed with 13 points and 4 assists for the winners. Egyptian center Assem Marei (206-1992, college: MSU) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists for LG Sakers. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Suwon KT moved-up to third place, which they share with Mobis Phoebus. LG Sakers at the other side keep the second position with 18 games lost. Suwon KT is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Seoul Thunders (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. LG Sakers will play against KoGas (#5) and are hoping to win this game.
An interesting game for Knights (39-9) which hosted in Seoul 3rd ranked Mobis Phoebus (28-19). First ranked Knights managed to get a 6-point victory 85-79. American center Jameel Warney (203-1994, college: Stony Brook) had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Isaiah Hicks chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward Shawn Long (208-1993, college: Louisiana, agency: Pensack Sports) with 21 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Knights have a solid three-game winning streak. Seoul Knights maintains first position with 39-9 record. Mobis Phoebus at the other side keep the third place with 19 games lost. They share the position with Suwon KT. Seoul Knights will play against KCC Egis (#8) in Jeonju in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Mobis Phoebus will play on the road against Anyang (#7) and hope to get back on the winning track.
Bottom-ranked Skygunners managed to get the second consecutive victory on Saturday night. This time they outleveled ninth-ranked Samsung Thunders in Daegu 84-59. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 25-point difference proves that Skygunners was well-prepared to that game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Samsung Thunders. Jeong-Hyeon Lee notched 19 points and 4 assists to lead the effort. Even 14 points and 6 rebounds by Kofi Cockburn did not help to save the game for Seoul Thunders. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sono SG (16-31) moved-up to eighth place, which they share with KCC Egis. Loser Samsung Thunders dropped to the bottom. Sono SG will meet higher ranked Anyang (#7) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Seoul Thunders will play against Suwon KT and hope to secure a win.
