A standout performer in South Africa’s Premier Soccer League (PSL), Ibraheem Jabaar is hoping his consistent form will earn him a long-awaited call-up to the Nigerian national team, the Super Eagles, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Stellenbosch FC midfielder has been instrumental in his club’s success this season and dreams of representing his country on the international stage.
“Obviously, it’s everyone’s dream to play for their country. So, I dream about it every time,” Jabaar shared.
On what it might take to break into the national team, he added, “I think it would depend on the coach. But if I get a call-up, obviously I would go there and do my job.” Jabaar, who featured in the CAF Confederation Cup with Stellies, is also aiming to take the next big step in his career: a move to Europe.
“Like I’ve always said from the start, I want to play in Europe. I know it’s coming—I’m going to get there,” he said with confidence.
A former Nigeria U-17 international, Jabaar made 41 appearances for Stellenbosch this season across all competitions, scoring one goal.
