Snow plow involved in crash in downtown Dayton

UPDATE @7:24 a.m.
A person suffered serious injuries after a car hit a salt truck in Downtown Dayton late Wednesday night.

As reported on News Center 7 Daybreak, officers and medics responded around 11:50 p.m. to Third Street near the Interstate 75 underpass on initial reports of a crash.

OHGO traffic cameras showed Dayton police blocking off the underpass.
Photos indicate that a salt truck and another car sustained damage from the crash. There is also debris on the street.
The salt truck driver was checked at the scene. Medics transported the other driver to an area hospital with serious injuries.
A Dayton Police sergeant told News Center 7 that the car and salt truck sustained heavy damage.
“It’s got heavy side damage,” said Sgt. Douglas George. One of the tires is flat. It’s got heavy damage. It’s got to be towed out of here.”
Wreckers have removed both vehicles from the scene. Third Street is back open at the I-75 underpass.
