Music teacher duo return to take on pop hits by Chappell Roan, Doechii and more at all-star Radio City Music Hall show

Will Ferrell and Ana Gasteyer revived their Saturday Night Live music teacher duo the Culps during the SNL 50: The Homecoming Concert, with “Marty and Bobbi” delivering a medley of pop hits that included a take on Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us.”

“It’s actually Valentine’s Day. So we invite you all to snuggle under a musical blanket of sensual funk and some mad fresh beats that slap,” Gasteyer’s Bobbi told the star-studded Radio City Music Hall audience. “No cap.”

“Are Kenny Lamar and Drake Graham in the house?” Ferrell’s Marty asked. “By the way, maybe you two can hug it out tonight in the name of love and fellowship. No? Not in hell. Message received.”

The Culps also tackled bits of Britney Spears’ “Work Bitch,” Doechii’s “Denial Is a River,” Chappell Roan’s “Good Luck, Babe!,” Sam Smith and Kim Petras’ “Unholy” and Megan Thee Stallion’s “Body,” and made reference to Charli XCX’s Brat.

The Culps weren’t the only SNL-related musical acts to take the stage at the 50th anniversary concert: The Lonely Island reunited for a medley that included Lady Gaga singing “Dick in a Box,” and Maya Rudolph’s Beyonce and Fred Armisen’s Prince impersonations also made an appearance.

The SNL 50 concert also featured the debut of Post Nirvana, plus performances by Cher, Lady Gaga, Jack White (a concert-ending set of Neil Young’s “Rockin’ in the Free World” and “Seven Nation Army”), a collaboration between David Byrne and Robyn (“Dancing on My Own” and “This Must Be the Place”), Arcade Fire with St. Vincent and friends, Eddie Vedder covering Tom Petty and Elvis Costello, Bonnie Raitt with Chris Martin, and many more.
