Sister of Blind Keith Urban Fan Pens Heartfelt Thank You to Country Star "For Seeing My Sister in a World Where So Many Don't"
Although Keith Urban watched his career in country music land him numerous awards, including four Grammys, he never forgot about the people who made his dream come true – the fans. Spending over three decades touring the world, the singer met more than a few fans who couldn’t get enough of his songs like “You’ll Think of Me” and “Somebody Like You.” But recently, Urban met a new fan who happened to be blind. While not able to see Urban, she appeared in high spirits as he performed on stage. But after seeing the sign she was holding, the country star decided to make her night unforgettable.
Continuing to hit the road with his High and Alive Tour, Urban took a moment to walk through the crowd while performing. With thousands of fans surrounding him in Akron, Ohio, a woman named Cassie held a sign that read, “I can’t see you but I can hear you.” Noticing the sign, Urban stopped walking and extended his hand to Cassie.
With the two embracing, Urban placed his head against her. Thankfully, Cassie’s sister was there to capture the entire moment on video. Sharing the video on TikTok, she wrote a thank you note to Urban. “Thank you Keith Urban for seeing my sister in a world where so many don’t. One of the best nights of our entire lives. We will never ever forget.”
Gaining nearly 60,000 likes, fans could barely contain their emotions when watching Urban embrace Cassie. “Jokes on you. I planned on crying today.” Another person added, “The way he grabbed her face.” And one fan insisted, “I promise you… Keith Urban was just as touched!!! What a beautiful moment.”
While thousands of fans shared their thoughts in the comment section, Cassie received another surprise when Urban himself commented. The singer declared, “We ALL need each other… and I mean every one of us.”
Shocked by the love showcased by Urban, Cassie’s sister replied, “I hope you realize the impact you had on our family. We have loved you since we were so little. I would love this comment as a video so my sister can hear.”
Although Urban has yet to respond to the comment, the country singer has already made Cassie’s entire year with his touching gesture.
