In 2019, amidst her high popularity, she was cast in My Country: The New Age. She starred as Han Hee Jae, the valiant activist.

In 2019, AOA also rose once more in popularity through Queendom. Despite their successful run, the group hit an obstacle when former member , began accusing the group of outcasting her. This led to the public turning against the group.

She left Entertainment in 2021 when her contract expired. After around two years of laying low, Seolhyun returned to the public eye through the drama, The Killer’s Shopping List.

Finally, she hit her stride once more with Summer Strike in 2022, opposite Im Siwan. The relationship between the two leads played a huge part in turning the drama into a creeper hit. Although there was little to no skinship in the show, their calming, green flag relationship healed viewers.

What has the star been up to since? After her success with Summer Strike in 2022, she took a two year hiatus before making her comeback with a supporting role in Disney+’s K-Drama Light Shop.

She has also been confirmed for Netflix’s K-Drama Show Business alongside major stars such as Song Hye Kyo, Gong Yoo, Cha Seung Won, and Lee Hanui, which won’t be airing until 2026.
