Leonardo Spinazzola says that goal hero Scott McTominay is Napoli's golden boy.

The Scotland star's dream season in the Italian top tier continued as he netted a brace in a 2-0 success against Che Adams' Torino, meaning Napoli took full advantage of title rivals Inter Milan slipping up against Roma. The win puts Antonio Conte's men at the top of the Serie A table, with four games left to play.

Talking to CN24 the former Juventus man said: McTominay? He is a player you can see on the pitch, a golden boy, he is an incredible worker: we are lucky to have him with us.”

When asked about why Napoli deserve to win the Scudetto, he continued: “Why do we deserve the Scudetto? We deserve it because we are working with great dedication, it is normal to believe in it. Only we know how much we sweated and worked to get here.”

McTominay made it 11 Serie A goals for the season, the most ever by a Scottish player, with history on the line if he and teammate Billy Gilmour can become the first Scots to win the Italian top flight title. And he's timing his goals perfectly too, seven of the 11 goals scored by the former Manchester United man have arrived with the score at 0-0.

Despite their points advantage, boss Conte meanwhile is continuing to stress that it would be miraculous for his side to win the title. He told Gazetta.it: "I didn't follow Inter-Roma, also because we already suffer for ourselves, because we have to suffer watching the others.

"I watched the second half of Fiorentina-Empoli. I turned off my phone, I turned off everything, and at the end I heard the result. Now we are 4 steps away from a scudetto that would be a miracle.

"Now we will face two teams that are fighting for survival, Lecce and Parma. It's all to play for, today the important thing was to win and we did it with a lot of determination.

"It's a squad with few players in double figures, there was a lot of work to do and we used all the resources. Anguissa cuts very well in the first goal, puts the ball in without looking and Scott is ready.

!It's all the result of work, we have 74 points, 4 days left and the Champions League is now a done deal. It's all the result of the boys. Would the Scudetto be extraordinary? It would be a miracle."
