Saraya Won't Talk About Alberto El Patron - For Now, + Bishop Dyer Defends Will Ospreay
Bishop Dyer appreciated how Will Ospreay expressed his views on WWE, despite not being a fan of the company’s product.
In a recent interview, Ospreay stated that while he respects WWE, he doesn’t enjoy watching it. The comments quickly went viral, prompting Dyer — formerly known as Baron Corbin — to discuss the interview on a recent edition of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast. He said,
“I love the comments. He backs up his comments. He’s not burying anyone. He’s not burying a company. He even talks about Triple H. He doesn’t know him, he’s not taking shots at him, even though I think Triple H has taken a shot at him before. I think Hunter said one time ‘I don’t want guys who don’t want to work all the time.’ AEW’s pumping out more shows than WWE might at this time, with how many shows a week they’re doing, because WWE’s not doing live events anymore.”
He continued, “So I’m behind what he said. It offends me zero. It shouldn’t offend anyone. He’s taken pride in his place. He said it in his promo last night. Like, you know, ‘This is where it’s at.’ And I think it’s a great guy to have the flag and plant that flag in the center of the ring and say ‘Come get it you sons of b*tches.’”
Saraya’s memoir, Hell In Boots: Clawing My Way Through Nine Lives, which was released in March, left out a significant chapter of her life — her past relationship with Alberto El Patron. While the AEW and WWE alumna didn’t directly explain the omission, she acknowledged in a recent episode of her “Rulebreakers” podcast that certain aspects of her life were intentionally left out of the book.
You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:
On cutting portions of the book: “A relationship didn’t make the book, just because I feel like people would focus more on that relationship than the entirety of my book. So I opted out of talking about it, for now.”
On taking time to finish the book due to issues opening up about her feelings: “That’s just how we were raised, and so writing the book — it puts you in a vulnerable position, you know what I mean? So it was very hard, it was definitely very hard, but I’m glad I did it. I’m very proud. It’s like having my diary out there, though.”
