AEW's Darby Allin Reaches Mt. Everest Summit
All Elite Wrestling (AEW) star Darby Allin successfully reached the summit of Mount Everest on Sunday, May 18. Allin shared a photo of himself and his climbing team planting the AEW flag at the summit, captioning it with gratitude to AEW and his climbing team, Adventure Consultants, and the Sherpa squad.
Allin, aged 32, was the only first-time climber in the team, which began its ascent in April. Known for his daredevil stunts, Allin broke the world record for landing a kickflip at 20,958 feet during his Everest climb earlier in May.
Allin is expected to return to AEW television soon after descending the mountain. His return was initially anticipated for the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament last month but was delayed due to preparations for the Everest climb. He was written off television in December after being thrown down a flight of stairs by AEW World Champion Jon Moxley and his group, 'The Deathriders'.
The Owen Hart Cup will conclude with a final match between Will Ospreay and 'Hangman' Adam Page at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view event on Sunday, May 25, to determine the No. 1 contender for the AEW World Championship at All In: Texas on July 12.
