Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has expressed deep gratitude to his wife, Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, for organising a thanksgiving ceremony in celebration of his 60th birthday.

In a heartfelt message shared on his page on Thursday, the governor appreciated his wife and children for putting together what he described as a “warm and thoughtful” celebration.

“I’m truly grateful to my dear wife Ibijoke and our wonderful children for putting together such a warm and thoughtful thanksgiving celebration for my birthday. It meant a lot to me,” he wrote.

He also acknowledged those who attended the event and offered prayers. “Thank you as well to everyone who joined us, your presence made the day even more special. And to those who ministered, I deeply appreciate your prayers and kind words. I’m thankful for it all,” he added.

The praise worship service, themed “Rhythms of Worship with Adura,” took place on Wednesday and was attended by no fewer than four state governors Seyi Makinde of Oyo, Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo, Ademola Adeleke of Osun and Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti.

Also in attendance were former minister of works, Babatunde Fashola; Lagos Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat; federal and state lawmakers; traditional rulers; party chieftains; members of the governor’s extended family and cabinet; as well as friends and well-wishers from across the country.

Guests were treated to soul-stirring performances by some of Nigeria’s top gospel acts, including Moses Bliss, Mercy Chinwo, Sunmisola Agbebi, Arugbo Ojo, Emma Oh My God, the MFM Guitar Choir and the Dream Catchers Academy.

The celebrant and his wife were spotted dancing joyfully as the worship session progressed, with many describing Sanwo-Olu as “gracefully serving and gratefully walking in God’s will.”
