Published 1 month ago1 minute read
(KRQE) – Both Albuquerque and Santa Fe officials say they are preparing for the colder weather. Santa Fe officials say they have activated Code Blue through Wednesday.

Strong winds and colder temperatures move into the state

The city says Code Blue is an initiative designed to provide essential resources, expand overnight sheltering, and increase daytime warming operations for people experiencing homelessness during the severe weather. The city of Albuquerque says they will be offering a bed and shelter to anyone in need and are prepared to expand capacity.

The city says if capacity is reached at Gateway West, beds will made available at Gateway Center. Warming centers would also be opened at other city facilities as needed.

More information is available on the Santa Fe and Albuquerque city websites.
