Samia appoints, transfers, promotes leaders

PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has announced a series of leadership appointments, transfers and changes in key government positions, aimed at enhancing efficiency and service delivery across the country.

The changes were communicated through a statement by Chief Secretary Ambassador Dr Moses Kusiluka.

In the new appointments, Godfrey Mnzava has been named District Commissioner for Moshi, succeeding James Kaji, who has been appointed Director General of the National Identification Authority (NIDA).

Another appointee is Michael Semindu, who was previously serving as District Administrative Secretary in Iringa. He has now been appointed District Commissioner for Mbulu, taking over from Veronica Kessy, who has retired.

Khamana Simba has been moved from his position as District Administrative Secretary for Arusha to become the new District Commissioner for Ulanga, succeeding Dr Julius Ningu, who has also retired.

Other appointments include Hamad Rajabu Mbega who will now serve as Mbozi District Commissioner and Peter Nicholaus Masindi who previously serving as Mkalama District Commissioner but has now been moved to Kishapu in the same capacity.

Transfers have also been made among District Commissioners; Joseph Mkude has been moved from Kishapu to Arusha, replacing Felician Mtahengera, whose appointment has been revoked. Joachim Nyingo has been moved from Kilolo to Bahi, swapping work stations with while Ms Rebecca Msemwa.

Similarly, Hassan Bomboko, formerly station in Ubungo, will now serve as the District Commissioner for Hai, swapping work stations with Lazaro Twange. Also Mr Kisa Kasongwa who was stationed in Njombe District now becomes Makete District Commissioner swapping stations with Juma Sweda. Several District Administrative Secretaries (DASs) have also been appointed to fill vacancies or replace officials taking on new roles.

Jacob Rombo, formerly serving as Mbogwe DAS is now the District Administrative Secretary for Arusha, replacing Khamana Simba. Benard Urasa, Chief Administrative Officer in the Office of the President – Regional Administration and Local Government, has been appointed DAS for Iringa, replacing Michael Semindu, who has been appointed District Commissioner for Mbulu. Paul Faty, previously a lecturer at Hombolo Local Government Training Institute, has now been appointed DAS for Mbogwe.

Happyness Sulle, Head of the Library and Records Unit of Chama cha Mapinduzi (CCM), has been appointed DAS for Mkalama, replacing Peter Masindi, who has been appointed District Commissioner for Kishapu.

Glory Absalum, the Division Executive Officer for Bashnet in Babati, has been appointed DAS for Kahama, replacing Hamad Mbega, who has been appointed District Commissioner for Mbozi.

In addition, new Council Executive Directors have been appointed to oversee local government operations. Edwin Bayona, Head of the Legal Unit at Mwanga District Council, has been appointed Executive Director of Mbogwe District Council, replacing Saada Mwaruka, who will be assigned new responsibilities.

Christina Daniel Bunini, Head of the Administration and Human Resources Department in Sengerema District Council, has been appointed Executive Director of Nsimbo District Council, replacing Engineer Stephano Kaliwa, whose appointment has been revoked. Dr Mwinyi Mwinyi, a Senior Statistician at the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), has been appointed Executive Director of Busokelo District Council.

Alphaxard Etanga, Manager of Business Development and Clients at Exim Bank, has been appointed Executive Director of Masasi District Council. Erica Yegela, former Executive Director of Masasi Town Council, has been appointed Executive Director of Mbeya District Council, replacing Paul Sweya, who has retired.

Pili Kitwana, Head of Administration and Human Resources at Morogoro Municipal Council, has been appointed Executive Director of Ifakara Town Council. Zahara Michuzi has been transferred from Ifakara Town Council to Meatu District Council, replacing Athuman Masasi, whose appointment has been revoked.

Loema Peter has been transferred from Busokelo District Council to Mvomero District Council, replacing Linno Mwageni, whose appointment has been revoked. Beatrice Mwinuka has been transferred from Masasi District Council to serve as Executive Director for Kilosa District Council, replacing Michael Gwimile, whose appointment has been revoked.

Siwema Hamud Juma has been transferred from Chemba District Council to serve as Executive Director of Kilolo District Council, swapping work stations with Hassan Juma Mnyika. William Mathew Makufwe has been transferred from Makete District Council to serve as Executive Director of Kaliua District Council. Jerry Daimon Mwaga has been transferred from Kaliua District Council to serve as Executive Director of Makete District Council.

Kastori Msigala has been transferred from Iringa Municipal Council to serve as Executive Director of Ikungi District Council. Justice Laurent Kijazi has been transferred from Ikungi District Council to serve as Executive Director of Iringa Municipal Council.

The President also announced a key appointment for the Geological Survey of Tanzania (GST), naming Yokbeth Myumbilwa as the new Chairperson of the Board, replacing Professor Justinian Ikingura, whose term has ended.
