The Kwara Fire Service has recovered the body of an unidentified man, approximately 45 years old, from the Asa River in Ilorin. The discovery was reported by officials from the state Ministry of Environment, who found the body floating in the river.

According to a statement from the Head of Media and Publicity for the fire service, the team is currently awaiting identification of the deceased. Upon receiving the report, firefighters were dispatched to the scene to mitigate potential environmental hazards. The team successfully retrieved the body from the river.

The recovered body has been handed over to the Ministry of Environment, where it will remain until formal identification and claims from the deceased’s family are made.
