Saints' Tyrann Mathieu joins up with LSU women's basketball to create hype video for social media during tournament run
Social media has become such a valuable tool to create excitement around a college program nowadays. Tyrann Mathieu, a fan favorite and former Pro Bowler for the Saints, recently helped out his alma mater to add hype for their postseason run.
The former Tigers superstar was the perfect voice to lead this project.
Fans have loved the video so far. It has eclipsed over 200 shares on X/Twitter by this point, with many more surely on the way. On Instagram, the video has totaled over 2,500 likes with nearly 75 comments so far. On every platform, it's performing.
You can tell that Mathieu played a notable role in making the LSU faithful feel the important of the next couple of weeks for the women's program. They have their sights set on winning another national title.
LSU WBK's next game is central time.
They'll face the two-seed in their region in NC State. Both have been incredibly impressive this season. LSU won their previous tournament game, 101-71, over Florida State. NC State beat Michigan State earlier this week, 83-49, to reach the Sweet 16 against the Tigers.
For the Saints veteran safety, you know where Mathieu's allegiances will lie in this matchup. Mathieu joins Chris Olave as two of the Saints' best players that have shown support for the women's basketball team over the past week.
Now, Saints fans have yet another reason to love Mathieu. He's set to start for New Orleans once again next season, alongside newly-signed Justin Reid as the other safety on their defense.
