JOHANNESBURG - President Cyril Ramaphosa will meet Donald Trump at the White House on Wednesday.

The much-anticipated meeting comes amid growing tensions between Pretoria and Washington.

The Presidency says the meeting is an opportunity to reset relations.

Trump has been attacking South Africa's land policy and claims the white minority is being treated badly.

This week, he repeated falsehoods of a genocide against white Afrikaner farmers.

It came as 40 Afrikaners landed in the US this week on so-called 'refugee' status.

The two leaders are also expected to discuss geopolitical events, including wars in Gaza and Ukraine.

The G20 Summit may also be discussed, with Trump indicating he may not attend.

The US is meant to take the Presidency from South Africa at the November meeting.

The visit means Ramaphosa won't be present when the Finance Minister delivers his third budget in Parliament.
