Rumer Willis is celebrating a big day for her dad Bruce Willis.

The actress — who is the oldest child of the retired actor and his ex-wife Demi Moore — participated in an Ask Me Anything session on her Instagram Stories Tuesday, March 18, where a fan asked her, "How's your dad doing?"

"He's doing great; thank you for asking," said Rumer, 36. "It is actually his 70th birthday tomorrow, so please wish my papa a big happy birthday."

Bruce's family announced that he had been diagnosed with aphasia in March 2022. His wife Emma Heming Willis later confirmed his diagnosis with frontotemporal dementia the following February.

The Die Hard star's family also shared at the time of his aphasia-diagnosis news that he would be stepping away from acting.

Rumer recently gave an update on her dad's health while appearing on the U.K. talk show Loose Women on Feb. 3, saying Bruce is “doing really well."

“He’s doing great,” added the actress, who is mom to 23-month-old daughter Louetta, via video link on the show.

Earlier in the interview, Rumer spoke about being "grateful" looking back on her family life growing up with dad Bruce and mom Demi, 62, who also share daughters Scout Willis, 33, and Tallulah Willis, 31. (Bruce and Emma, 46, are additionally parents to daughters Mabel, 12, and Evelyn, 10.)

“The thing I’m most grateful for is that even when they split up, they created such a beautiful foundation of prioritizing my sisters and I, that I never felt like I had to choose — they never played against each other,” she said of her parents, who divorced in 2000 after nearly 13 years married.

She continued of their blended brood, “We were a family and we still are very much a family, no matter what."

Rumer also praised her mom and dad's dynamic as she touched on her own situation since splitting from now-ex-boyfriend Derek Richard Thomas, with whom she shares her daughter.

"I feel like my parents set such an unbelievable example, even when they separated of the co-parenting dynamic, and Derek's my best friend, and that has not changed," the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood actress told PEOPLE back in October 2024.

She added at the time, "We have found an amazing way to keep our friendship and our loving co-parenting relationship. And I think both of us are so happy that we can have that for ourselves, as well as for Lou."
