Premier League heavyweights Manchester United are set to take on Ipswich Town today after a dramatic 2-2 draw against Everton last weekend at Goodison Park.

The Red Devils are eager to return to winning ways against The Tractor Boys after a three-game winless run in the Premier League, but they'll need to overcome their injury-hit squad to do so.

United will be without eight key players for their home clash against Ipswich Town on Wednesday night, as manager Amorim navigates an escalating injury crisis at Old Trafford.

Ipswich on the other hand is currently enduring a challenging period in the Premier League, with their recent form reflecting a series of difficult matches.

As the 20-time English Champions aim to get back on track, the Portuguese manager, Amorim will have to navigate yet another match without several key players.

As per the Mirror UK, Luke Shaw, Mason Mount, Jonny Evans, and Toby Collyer, Kobbie Mainoo remain sidelined as they continue their recovery and are not yet fit to return.

Meanwhile, Amad Diallo and Lisandro Martínez have been ruled out for the remainder of the season, adding to United’s ongoing injury woes.

Concerns remain over Noussair Mazraoui after the star sustained a knee injury against Everton, potentially forcing Amorim to rely on academy prospects to strengthen his squad once again.

Speaking ahead of the game, Amorim informed the media that Amad Diallo remains sidelined for an extended period.

He also stated that Mason Mount and Luke Shaw are still in the process of recovery but admitted he does not have a specific timeline for their return.

"Amad will be out for a long time. Mason is still recovering, and Luke is also continuing his recovery. I don’t have a specific return date for them.
"Toby [Collyer] seems to be the closest one but not now. Kobbie is recovering. We have to adapt to use the players that we have for the schedule," Amorim said.

The Red Devils are expected to line up with André Onana in goal, providing stability between the posts.

Diogo Dalot is likely to start at right-back, with Harry Maguire and Matthijs de Ligt forming the centre-back partnership, while Leny Yoro could step in at left-back due to injuries.

In midfield, Manuel Ugarte and Casemiro are set to anchor the team, offering defensive solidity and control, while Bruno Fernandes will take on his usual playmaking role.

Up front, Alejandro Garnacho and Facundo Pellistri are expected to operate on the wings, providing width and pace, with Rasmus Højlund leading the line as the main striker.

With a stretched squad, Ruben Amorim may have to rely on academy players to fill the bench once again as United look to secure a much-needed victory.

had earlier reported on the warning issued by former Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag to current coach Amorim following his departure from the club.

The 55-year-old Dutchman emphasized to Amorim the importance of continuous improvement at Old Trafford, stressing that sustained success requires constant adaptation and development.
