Romania - Valcea-inks-Lucas-Tohatan
CS Valcea 1924 Rm Valcea (Liga Nationala) agreed terms with 26-year-old international point guard Lucas Tohatan (187cm-1999) for the upcoming 2025-26 season. He has played for the last three years at CSO Voluntari in the Liga Nationala. The team played in three different competitions that year, and he had a chance to explore basketball on different levels. In 42 Liga Nationala games, he recorded 8.5ppg, 1.2rpg, and 2.9apg last season. He helped them to win the cup and make it to the league semifinals. Tohatan also played 12 games in the European North Basketball League where he averaged 8.3ppg, 1.2rpg, and 2.4apg. He contributed to his team winning the European North Basketball League championship.
Tohatan has been a member of the Romanian international program for some years. He has regularly played for the Romanian senior team since 2018 and previously for the Under 20 National Team in 2019.
Tohatan also represented Romania at the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 European Pre-Qualifiers four years ago. During this event he scored an average of 9.3 ppg and had 1.5 rpg.
He has played previously for three other teams: Sibiu, Timisoara, and Olimpic.
Among many awards, he was voted to the Eurobasket.com Romanian League All-Domestic Players Team in 2022.
