Ripple Obtains License in UAE

Ripple Labs is increasing its presence in the Middle East's fintech sector, engaging with United Arab Emirates (UAE) officials at the Dubai Fintech Summit to enhance digital payment infrastructure and foster blockchain-driven financial innovation. Ripple President Monica Long emphasized the company’s commitment to the region, underscoring Ripple’s long-term investment in the UAE’s digital economy.

Since establishing its Dubai office in 2020, Ripple has expanded its footprint in the Middle East, now comprising nearly 20% of its global customer base. The UAE's support for digital assets and Dubai’s regulatory framework attract technology leaders like Ripple. Ripple's partnership with the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) Innovation Hub, which hosts over 1,000 startups, venture capital firms, and regulators, supports early-stage companies in adopting blockchain and crypto technologies. CEO Brad Garlinghouse emphasizes the UAE's forward-thinking policies as ideal for broader XRPL adoption.

Ripple has secured a license from the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA), enabling regulated blockchain payment services across the UAE and access to a trade corridor valued at $400 billion. Businesses can use Ripple Payments for efficient and secure cross-border transactions. This regulatory approval enhances Ripple’s position as a global payments leader and promotes the adoption of RLUSD, Ripple’s stablecoin, in the region’s payment infrastructure, aligning with the UAE’s goal of becoming a digital financial hub.
