Speaking on Monday, May 19, Gachagua alleged that at around 2.30pm on Sunday, May 19, his team received intelligence from certain security officers indicating that a plan was underway to plant weapons in his convoy.
He claimed the objective was to fabricate charges against him that would justify his arrest and prosecution.
According to Gachagua, 30 minutes after the initial alert, another group allegedly composed of individuals trained in the use of biological agents joined the operation.
The former deputy president alleged that the group’s mission was to expose him to airborne chemicals capable of gradually paralysing his brain within three months.
"The instructions were to poison me through inhaled chemicals that would paralyse my brain within three months. This was the intent of the whole operation. My team and I sought alternative routes as guided by deployed security personnel, majority of whom are our supporters and opposed to what is going on," he claimed.
He further claimed that his private security detail is set to be withdrawn and their licenses revoked under President William Ruto's directive, leaving him vulnerable and exposed to possible assassination.
Gachagua compared the alleged plot to the ordeal of the late Kenneth Matiba, who suffered after being detained under harsh conditions during the Moi regime.
He has called on relevant authorities to investigate the claims and ensure his safety.
"The government wanted to plant weapons on my convoy and wanted to use chemicals so that they could paralyse our brains as they did to Kenneth Matiba," he alleged.
