The Dodgers over the past two off-seasons have garnered a reputation for being in the mix for the best free agent talents on the board.
Two years ago they signed Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto among other notable moves. Last offseason was defined by bringing back Teoscar Hernández and being the team to win over Roki Sasaki. For the 2025-26 offseason, the Dodgers plan to be in the mix for Chicago Cubs outfielder Kyle Tucker, who will become one of the premiere bats on the open market, reports Bob Nightengale of USA Today.
The Los Angeles Dodgers plan to jump into the free-agent fray for Cubs outfielder Kyle Tucker this winter. They may not be the high bidder, but they’ll surely keep everyone honest just as they did when they were in the Juan Soto sweepstakes.

Mother’s Day is always a bittersweet day for Freddie Freeman, who lost his mother, Rosemary, to skin cancer when he was just 10 years old. During yesterday’s win against the Arizona Diamondbacks, Freeman capped off his blistering week with a four-hit performance while crushing his third home run of the week, bringing his batting average up to .377, the highest batting average for any player with at least 100 plate appearances in the National League.

Freeman reflected on his four hit game when speaking with Kirsten Watson of SportsNet LA and his overall outlook on Mother’s Day, noting that being a proud husband and father of three boys have helped him embrace this day.
“Pretty much everyone knows my story, you know. Mother’s Day was a sad day for me for a long time, but now that Chelsea and I have three boys, Mother’s Day is quite happy. I know my mom was looking down, having a great time, especially after one of these games.”
Tony Gonsolin was a late call to start on Sunday on just three days of rest, and he helped the Dodgers even the series against Arizona by tossing five shutout innings and recording the win.
Gonsolin spoke about his start postgame with Kirsten Watson of SportsNet LA, remarking how he was able to successfully bounce back after suffering a loss against the Miami Marlins and some early troubles against Arizona on Sunday.
