A heartbroken mother has taken to social media to mourn the loss of her son following a tragic accident at Ramba Boys High School in Siaya County.

The incident, which occurred on Saturday evening, March 22, saw two students lose their lives when a septic tank they were standing on suddenly collapsed.

The deceased students were finalists at the extra-county school, and their untimely deaths have left the school community and parents devastated.

The tragedy has also raised concerns about safety measures within learning institutions.

Rarieda Member of Parliament, Otiende Amollo, took to X (formerly Twitter) to confirm the heartbreaking incident.

In his message, he expressed sorrow over the loss and assured the public that investigations were underway to understand the circumstances that led to the tragedy.

"Another tragedy! Saddened to learn two young boys at Ramba Boys High School have lost their lives after a septic tank collapsed. May their young souls rest in peace, even as we continue investigating the circumstances," the legislator wrote.

His sentiments mirrored the collective grief and concern among parents, students, and alumni of the institution.

One of the affected parents, a mother identified as Nyalia on TikTok, shared a moving tribute to her late son.

She posted a montage of photos featuring herself with the young boy, both radiating joy and the special bond they shared.

Accompanied by the emotional gospel song Imeniumiza Sana by Zabron Singers, the video captured the pain and heartbreak of a mother mourning her child's sudden departure.

In her caption, she expressed her disbelief and anguish:

"Go well, son. I wonder."

Her post has drawn an outpouring of sympathy and comforting messages from fellow parents, friends, and strangers who empathised with her profound loss.
