Rakiya Titilayo Alfa for burial on June 27

Hajia Rita Rakiya Titilayo Alfa (née Areh), a community leader and notable figure in Kogi State politics, will be buried tomorrow, June 27, 2025, in her hometown, Kabba, Kogi State, according to Muslim rites.

She passed away in London on May 14, 2025, at 65.

Although she had resided in London for decades, she remained a prominent figure who created employment opportunities for numerous youths and supported the elderly in her community.

Until recently, she was a member of the now-dissolved Governing Council of the University of Abuja.

In his tribute, Governor Usman Ododo described her as a compassionate woman who positively impacted her community. Kogi State First Lady, Hajia Sefinat Ododo, called her a remarkable and exceptional woman. Former governor Yahaya Bello praised her as a notable community leader who inspired many people in Kabba and across Kogi State.

She is survived by her daughter, Zina; her adopted son, David; her brother; her sisters; and other relatives.
