A central theme of the film's love story, 'barabari waala pyaar' (equal love), prompted R Madhavan to reflect on societal conditioning and evolving perceptions. He confessed that he and many of his generation were raised with traditional notions of respecting women, sometimes unknowingly causing offense. Madhavan recounted an instance where he complimented a girl by calling her a 'PYT' (pretty young thing), a term he later realized objectified her despite his innocent intention. He highlighted the fear among people his age of unintentionally offending others, expressing a desire for 'barabari waala pyaar' but acknowledging the ongoing struggle to define its boundaries. His character in "Aap Jaisa Koi" reportedly grapples with similar dilemmas.

Madhavan also discussed his clean-shaven look in the film, crediting director Vivek Soni's insistence. Despite his initial reluctance and feeling that he would "look bad," Madhavan eventually thanked Soni after receiving positive comments on his appearance. The actor additionally opened up about his deliberate and selective approach to film projects. He revealed that he has only undertaken four film projects over 14 years, a choice that even prompted concern from his wife. This straightforward wisdom led Madhavan to adopt a diet where he only eats when genuinely hungry, rather than adhering to fixed meal times.
