Filmmaker Quentin Tarantino has made an ambitious deal that will see a wave of making-of books exploring the director’s ten films – including his unmade final feature.

The deal was originally with Little Brown for three coffee table-style books starting with “The Making of Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood” releasing by Insight Editions on November 11th.

That was to be followed by “Inglourious Basterds” and “Django Unchained” in 2026 and 2027 respectively. When Insight Editions took over the deal, it expanded to encompass all of Tarantino’s directorial efforts including “Reservoir Dogs,” “Pulp Fiction,” “Jackie Brown,” “Kill Bill Vol.1,” “Kill Bill Vol.2,” “Death Proof,” and “The H8teful Eight”.

Journalist-author Jay Glennie is writing the books with Tarantino, the pair able to go through the director’s movies with full access to casts. Tarantino will write the introductions for each.

In addition, it’s stated that much like the novelization of “Once Upon A Time In Hollywood” which fleshed out the mythology of Brad Pitt’s Cliff Booth character, these books will go much further than regular picture books.

After Tarantino’s “The Movie Critic” fell apart, it’s not clear what Tarantino’s tenth and final directorial effort will be with speculation including a Len Deighton-esque spy film and a 1930s gangster movie.
