Q4 results today: JSW Steel among 200 companies to announce earnings on Friday
By ,
season is coming to a close and on Friday as many as 200 companies will announce their quarterly numbers. Key earnings to watch out include from JSW Steel, Ashok Leyland and BEML.Apart from the above, ABFRL, Ambo Agritech, Apollo Micro Systems, Ashoka Buildcon, Balkrishna Industries, Concord Drugs, Competent Automobiles Company, Gokak Textiles among others will also declare their results.

JSW Steel is expected to report a sequential improvement in earnings for Q4FY25, driven by better realisations and a moderation in input costs, particularly coal. However, year-on-year comparisons remain weak due to lower volumes and subdued global steel demand, according to a preview by Motilal Oswal.Consolidated revenue for the quarter is estimated at Rs 4,470 crore, down 3.4% YoY and up 8% QoQ. This recovery comes after a weak Q3, as improved average selling prices (ASP) are likely to support the top line, despite soft volume trends. The pricing outlook in the domestic market will remain a key monitorable in the near term.

EBITDA is expected at Rs 658 crore, up 18% QoQ, though still lower than last year. EBITDA per tonne is seen improving to Rs 9,158 in Q4FY25 from Rs 8,314 in Q3FY25, thanks to improved ASPs and easing raw material prices. However, on a YoY basis, EBITDA remains under pressure, as it had declined sharply from Rs 9,100 crore in Q4FY24.

Profit after tax is estimated at Rs 172 crore, marking a strong 121% QoQ rebound, but still sharply lower than Rs 1,300 crore in the same quarter last year. The YoY drop is attributed to weaker global demand, reduced exports, and margin pressure in overseas subsidiaries. PAT margins, however, are expected to improve sequentially.

Net debt levels and capex execution will be key points of focus in the management commentary. Investors will also track updates on domestic and overseas operations, especially in the US and Europe.
