Prince Omole appointed honorary envoy for NUGA Games 2025
In recognition of his commitment to youths’ development and national advancement, Prince Ade Omole has been officially named the Honourary Envoy for the forthcoming Nigerian University Games Association (NUGA 2025) competition, to be hosted by the University of Jos, Nigeria.
The appointment was formally announced on Thursday during the symbolic ceremony held at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja, Nigeria.
The honour was conferred by the Managing Director, Royal CBS Group Limited, the strategic consulting partner energising the NUGA 2025 Games, Mr. Khalifah Onu.
Speaking at the event, Onu described Prince Omole as “a patriotic leader, bridge-builder, and staunch advocate for youth empowerment, whose international influence and dedication to Nigeria’s development make him the ideal envoy to represent and amplify the spirit of NUGA.”
In his remarks, Prince Omole expressed gratitude for the honour bestowed on him and reaffirmed his commitment to promoting the values of unity, excellence, and patriotism through sports under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“The NUGA event is more than just a sporting event; it is a celebration of Nigerian talents, diversity, and ingenuity. I am proud to lend my voice and efforts to this noble cause,” he said.
As part of the event, Prince Omole also unveiled the official jersey kit for the 2025 Games. He commended the organisers for adopting a “Nigeria First” policy, revealing that the jersey was 100 per cent locally produced, sourced, and designed entirely by Nigerian professionals.
“This is a statement of confidence in our capacity as a nation. It embodies the spirit of Renewed Hope and national pride,” he added.
In a show of goodwill, Prince Omole, accompanied by Dr. Wole Aboderin and entourage, was presented with the first official NUGA Games package box, containing select memorabilia and gear to prepare him for his ambassadorial role throughout the festival.
With preparations in full swing, NUGA Games 2025 promises to be a show of athleticism, innovation, and national solidarity.
Prince Omole’s appointment, no doubt, adds renewed energy and visibility to the countdown towards what is expected to be a landmark sporting event for Nigerian universities.
