Priced from equivalent of RM 220k, C28 Nissan Serena e-Power launched in Thailand | WapCar
At the ongoing 2025 Bangkok International Motor Show, Nissan Thailand officially launched the C28 Nissan Serena e-Power. Imported from Japan (CBU), the lone Highway Star variant is priced at THB 1,690,000 (~RM 220k).
Our colleagues at AutoFun Thailand remarked that the Serena e-Power is the cheapest official Japan import in the Kingdom. Meanwhile, the outgoing imported-from-Malaysia C27 Serena S-Hybrid continues to be sold in Thailand, having been launched in late November 2024 with a THB 1,469,000 (~RM 189.5k) price tag.
Utilising the e-Power technology found in the Kicks, the Serena e-Power is driven by a front-mounted electric motor that generates 163 PS and 315 Nm. This is charged up by a 1.77-kWh lithium-ion battery that is generated by a 1.4-litre 3-cylinder naturally aspirated HR14DDE petrol unit (98 PS/123 Nm). Nissan claims an average fuel consumption of 18.2 km/L (5.5 L/100 km).
The Thai-spec C28 Serena comes standard with automatic LED headlights, dual powered hands-free sliding doors, and a two-tier rear tailgate system.
Offered with 7 seats in a 2+2+3 arrangement, the C28 is purely a family-friendly MPV with plenty of cubby holes and storage areas. The third row is folded in a 50:50 arrangement to the sides while the middle row consists of a pair of captain chairs.
Up front for the driver is a 7-inch fully digital instrument cluster with customisable gauges while a wide 9-inch touchscreen infotainment unit sits in the middle. It comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto but operating the air-conditioning is still through the traditional array of buttons and knobs below it. Just try not to accidentally press the gear selector buttons though.
In terms of safety features, the C28 Serena comes with the Nissan Intelligent Mobility Safety System suite which includes Intelligent Emergency Braking (IEB), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC), and Blind Spot Warning (BSW).
With the C28 Nissan Serena e-Power launched in Thailand as well as already available in Indonesia, could it make its way into Malaysia next? Nissan has hinted at the arrival of new e-Power models for Malaysia which could include the C28 Serena, though expect it to have a much higher price than the outgoing C27 S-Hybrid.
The Nissan Serena S-Hybrid is locally assembled (CKD) at Tan Chong’s Serendah plant with two variants offered:
– Highway Star: RM 149,888
– Premium Highway Star Package: RM 163,888
