Two cups cooked or uncooked rice, two cups of curd, two cups of water, 2-3 teaspoons of lemon juice, one chopped onion, two slit green chillies, half a tablespoon of mustard oil, half a tablespoon of cumin powder, one tablespoon of coriander leaves, and 4-5 curry leaves.
Boil half-boiled rice in water until soft and mushy. Press and drain the excess water. Spread it in a bowl and let it cool down to room temperature.
Now, add clean water to submerge the rice and cover it loosely with a muslin cloth. Let it ferment overnight at room temperature.
Strain the water in the morning. Now, add chopped onions, green chillies, lemon juice, and curd into it. Whisk it well to combine.
Heat mustard oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, red chillies, and curry leaves. Cook this until it starts to crackle.
Add the prepared tempering to this with salt and coriander leaves. Swirl it well to combine all the ingredients.
