Published 1 month ago1 minute read

Feb. 6—Icy conditions resulted in a crash outside of Goshen early Thursday morning

Elkhart County deputies report that at 4:40 a.m., Jose Rangel Bautista, 25, of Goshen, was traveling northeast on C.R. 22 west of C.R. 29 in a 2019 Toyota pickup truck. Amber Marshall, 26, of Goshen, was traveling southwest on C.R. 2222 west of C.R. 29 in a 2012 Ford SUV. Bautista was traveling too fast for weather conditions and lost control of the truck while braking, entering the southwest lane of travel in front of Marshall's vehicle, police reported. Marshall attempted to swerve away from the truck, but it struck the front end of the SUV and the vehicles went off the north side of the roadway.
