Prime Minister Narendra Modi will undertake a five-nation tour across Africa and Latin America from July 2 to July 9, 2025. The visit will include stops in Ghana, Trinidad & Tobago, Argentina, Brazil, and Namibia.

The first leg of the visit will take the Prime Minister to Ghana from July 2–3. This will be his first bilateral visit to the country and the first by an Indian Prime Minister in three decades.

During the visit, Prime Minister Modi will hold talks with the President of Ghana to review bilateral ties and discuss areas for cooperation in the economic, energy, defence, and development sectors. The visit is expected to reinforce India's engagement with the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the African Union.

The second leg of the visit will be to Trinidad & Tobago from July 3–4, at the invitation of Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar.

This will mark Prime Minister Modi’s first visit to the country and the first bilateral visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Trinidad & Tobago since 1999. He will hold talks with President Christine Carla Kangaloo and Prime Minister Persad-Bissessar, and is also expected to address a Joint Session of Parliament.

On July 4–5, Prime Minister Modi will travel to Argentina for an official visit at the invitation of President Javier Milei. The two leaders will review bilateral cooperation and explore opportunities in defence, agriculture, mining, oil and gas, renewable energy, trade and investment, and people-to-people exchanges.

From July 5–8, the Prime Minister will visit Brazil to attend the 17th BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro, followed by a state visit. This will be his fourth visit to Brazil.

During the BRICS Summit, leaders will exchange views on global issues including multilateral reform, peace and security, artificial intelligence, climate action, health, and economic matters.

In Brasilia, Prime Minister Modi will meet President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva to discuss bilateral cooperation in trade, defence, energy, space, technology, agriculture, health, and other areas.

On July 9, Prime Minister Modi will visit Namibia at the invitation of President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah.

This will be his first visit to Namibia and the third such visit by an Indian Prime Minister. He will hold talks with President Nandi-Ndaitwah, pay tribute to Namibia’s first President Sam Nujoma, and address the Parliament of Namibia.

The five-nation tour is part of India’s efforts to expand its diplomatic and economic engagement across Africa and Latin America.
