Phyn Acquired to Accelerate Growth in Smart Water Solutions

Phyn, a leader in intelligent water solutions, has been acquired by a group of investors led by Jonathan Scott. This acquisition transitions Phyn from Belkin to an independent company. The new backing aims to expand Phyn's presence across markets like insurance, property management, building, utilities, and home services.
The investor group includes Jonathan Scott, co-founder and CEO of Scott Brothers Global, bringing brand-building expertise and a passion for smart home innovation. Tom Proulx, co-founder of Intuit and author of Quicken, will serve as an advisor and board member, contributing his software development experience. David Marquardt, a venture capitalist, brings strategic insight, while Allen Sands, founder of ICON Builders, provides a path to scale through ICON's network and relationships. ICON chose Phyn after researching water damage solutions.
Jonathan Scott emphasized the importance of Phyn's technology in preventing water damage, stating that he has used it in his own homes for years. He envisions Phyn becoming a standard safety device in every home. Ryan Kim, CEO of Phyn, expressed excitement about the new investors' support and their potential to elevate awareness and accelerate growth.
The investment comes as smart water management becomes essential, with water damage being a leading cause of property insurance claims. Insurers and homebuilders are incentivizing leak detection devices like Phyn, which features automatic shutoff capabilities. Phyn's partner network includes Nationwide, Chubb, PURE, and Cincinnati Financial.
Phyn uses ultrasonic technology and AI-driven shut-off solutions that cover the entire home. Phyn-protected households are reportedly 99% less likely to experience a non-weather water leak claim. The company offers products like the Phyn Smart Water Assistant, Smart Water Sensor, and Phyn Plus.
Phyn's technology incorporates ultrasonic flow sensing, HD pressure wave analysis, and AI, setting a benchmark for the industry. With its new ownership, Phyn aims to accelerate growth across consumer and B2B channels, helping people protect their homes, conserve water, and save money.
