Darts star and Liverpool fan Stephen Bunting recently visited the AXA Training Centre for a special challenge against two members of the Reds squad.

Bunting, who reached the semi-finals of the 2025 PDC World Championship in January, teamed up with presenter Emma Paton to take on darts enthusiasts Conor Bradley and Caoimhin Kelleher in a series of games on the board.

Playing in pairs, the teams contested a speed round of 60 seconds to score as many points as possible, a standard game of 501, and finally ‘Round the Board’ – with many of Arne Slot’s squad watching along from the side.

Bunting and Paton managed a whitewash of 3-0 against the Reds duo, though the former was nevertheless impressed by their efforts.

“Both really good, great technique and both scored really well,” said Bunting. “It was great. It was a privilege for me to be here with the lads, and obviously a bit of a surprise with the other lads coming in as well!

“Unbelievable, to be fair. I watch these guys on TV a lot and I get to the games when I can. To have a game of darts and a good laugh, it’s been emotional.”
