Ahead of the August 16th by-election in Edo State, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state on Saturday announced the release of the official timetable for the forthcoming by-elections into Edo Central Senatorial District and the Ovia Federal Constituency as approved by the National Working Committee (NWC).

This was contained in a communique signed by Edo PDP Caretaker Committee Secretary, Henry Duke Tenebe, at the end of a State Working Committee meeting and made available to newsmen in Benin.

The Edo PDP Caretaker Committee Secretary stated that the party has resolved to notify aspirants, party members, stakeholders, and the general public of the release and approval of the official timetable for the forthcoming by-elections in the Edo Central Senatorial District and Ovia Federal Constituency.

He said that the timetable was duly approved by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party and is in line with the schedule released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

According to him, the sale of forms will commence on Saturday, July 5, 2025, and conclude on Thursday, July 10, 2025.

Tenebe, who sued for the cooperation of all party members and stakeholders, called on everyone to contribute to the peaceful and successful conduct of the exercise taking place at the PDP State Secretariat on Aiguobasimwin Crescent, GRA, Benin City.

He said all intending aspirants are advised to strictly adhere to the approved timetable and procedures as well as comply fully with the provisions of the PDP Electoral Guidelines.

Tenebe added that Ward Congress to elect 3-Man Ad hoc ward delegates will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2025 (Where Applicable) and Local Government Congresses to elect (1) National Delegate per LGA (Where Applicable) slated for Friday, July 18, 2025 at the LGA Party Secretariat.

The Edo PDP expressed her readiness and commitment to conducting a free, fair, and transparent process that upholds democratic principles and internal party discipline.
