PBA to hold games in Dubai, Bahrain; Saudi, Qatar games eyed
THE PBA is set to hold games not only in Dubai but in Bahrain as well.
Commissioner Willie Marcial said the plans were put in place during his recent visit in the United Arab Emirates for the Basketball Champions League Asia where the Meralco Bolts saw action.
Marcial disclosed the games in Dubai and Bahrain will be held in October and December during the 50th anniversary season of Asia's pioneering pro league.
"Yung game sa Dubai malamang itong October na. Yung sa Bahrain, baka mag double-header games. Sa December naman yun," said Marcial, who arrived in the country last Saturday.
The commissioner added the league already has teams in mind which will play in both Middle East countries, but refused to name them at the moment.
The overseas foray will be the first for the league since 2019 when it held a two-game offering in Dubai involving Barangay Ginebra, San Miguel, and NLEX.
