Published 12 hours ago2 minute read

The Chairman, Oyo State Teaching Service Commission, Mrs Oladipo Olubukola, has urged students to shun examination malpractice as the National Examination Council examinations continue across the state.

Olubukola gave the charge during a monitoring exercise at some secondary schools in different zones of the state on Wednesday and Thursday.

She advised both students and teachers against cutting corners during examinations, stressing the need for honesty and hard work.

She further encouraged students to focus on their academics to boost their chances of gaining admission into their preferred universities.

Olubukola also reiterated the commission’s commitment to upholding high academic standards through collaboration with relevant authorities.

She warned that appropriate disciplinary action would be taken against anyone found guilty of examination malpractice.

She said, “The Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration has zero tolerance for examination malpractice.”

According to her, the monitoring exercise was aimed at assessing the conduct of the ongoing NECO examinations in public schools across the state.

In his remarks, the Principal of Ibadan Grammar School, Mr Ogunleye Biodun, commended Governor Makinde for prioritising education development in the state.

Some of the examination centres visited include Ibadan Grammar School, St. Anne’s School, Olubi Memorial Grammar School, and Saint Luke’s College, all in Ibadan.
