COLOMBO, June 1 (Xinhua) -- More than 10,000 people across 14 districts in Sri Lanka have been impacted by severe weather as of Sunday morning, the Disaster Management Centre (DMC) said.

Nineteen people have been injured, and 2,711 houses have sustained partial damage due to the adverse weather conditions, according to the DMC.

Landslide warnings remain in effect for five districts: Galle, Kandy, Kegalle, Nuwara Eliya and Ratnapura, the DMC added.

Meanwhile, the meteorological department said heavy rains will lessen from Sunday. ■
