Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade will hold an online seminar on trade promotion with the US on July 16.
The event will take place via Zoom from 7:30 to 10:30 am (Hanoi time), with Vietnamese-English simultaneous interpretation to support the engagement of domestic businesses and international experts.
The US has long been one of Vietnam’s top export markets, yet it remains highly regulated, with stringent technical standards, tariffs, and import procedures. Do Ngoc Hung, Vietnam’s Trade Counsellor in the US, will provide insights into American consumer preferences, promising product categories, and technical requirements.
Tran Thanh Binh, Head of the Rules of Origin Division at the ministry's Agency of Foreign Trade, will offer guidance on rules of origin, customs procedures, and tariff incentives under Vietnam’s trade agreements.
A key highlight will be the presentation by Marc Mealy, Executive Vice President of the US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC), offering international business perspectives on operating and cooperating in the US market.
With cross-border e-commerce growing rapidly, the programme will devote significant attention to supporting Vietnamese firms in building global brands and accelerating online exports. Nguyen Thi Hong Van from the Vietnam Trade Office in New York will present local support initiatives for businesses.
Trinh Khac Toan, Northern Region Director of Amazon Global Selling Vietnam, will introduce strategies to help local enterprises access Amazon – the world’s largest cross-border e-commerce platform.
Meanwhile, Pham Quoc Tung, Country Director of Wayfair Vietnam, will outline export opportunities through Wayfair, a leading US online home goods retailer – offering strong potential for Vietnamese handicrafts, wooden furniture, and home décor products.
The seminar will conclude with a live Q&A session, allowing businesses to raise questions and receive expert guidance. /.
