The kinsmen of the former governor of Anambra State, Dr. Willie Obiano, have accused his successor, Governor Chukwuma Soludo, of betrayal, vowing to pay him back in his own coin.

Speaking at the Anambra East Local Government Area Tour of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to present the party’s governorship candidate, Senator Nicholas Ukachukwu and his running mate, Senator Uche Ekwunife, they promised to vote en masse for the APC gubernatorial candidate come November 8.

The highpoint of the occasion was the inauguration of the Anambra East Ward Campaign Council, with mandate to move further down to the grassroots to inaugurated 40-man Pulling Unit Campaign Council that would begin to get monthly emolument effective July, 2025 till end of campaign period

Former Obiano’s younger brother, Hon. Eva Obiano, five wards in Aguleri led by Comrade Innocent Nduanya and people of Anambra East Local Government Area of the state led by Hon. Innocent Offodile regretted that Soludo had shown his natural disposition of ingratitude by use and dump of the compatriot who served as governor and single-handedly anointed his succession.

Obiano, Nduanya, Offodile and Osy Nwoye who are stalwarts in the Area pointed out that Ukachukwu is a self-made man contented and has a large heart to touch the lives of the masses, calling for massive vote for APC to make Ukachukwu’s victory a dream come true.

In her speech, Senator Ekwunife thanked the people for the huge turnout, calling on the people of Anambra East LGA to vote out the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) who do not mean well for the people of the state and South-East Zone, adding that Ukachukwu’s emergence would connect Anambra State to the centre.

Ekwunife noted that Ukachukwu is a successful businessman and philanthropist who cares for the wellbeing and security of the masses, unlike Soludo whom she accused of imposing obnoxious taxes and levies on the common man, including hawkers, indigent women and artisans.

She urged the electorate not to get swayed by the claim of APGA that Tinubu had endorsed Soludo for second-term, stressing that the President cannot be an architect of anti-party activities.

In his speech, Senator Ukachukwu appreciated the kinsmen of Soludo and LGA, saying that Willie is a nice man; he tried for the state and because of his good mind, he brought out Soludo to succeed him.

He hinted that he came prepared for the election to rescue the people of the state along his his running mate, Senator Ekwunife whom he described as a woman with swag.

Ukachukwu pointed out that he is in the same political party (APC) with President Bola Tinubu whom he said had blessed his aspiration and handed over the flag to him and his running mate.

He said, “We have come to change the narrative and move the state forward, stressing, “we are standing on change and progress.”

Ukachukwu lamented that for three years, Soludo abandoned the state in the hands of hoodlums who killed and kidnapped, saying that their blood of the dead are crying out for revenge.

He said as a grounded businessman he has investments in the state and has solution to the insecurity, because industries cannot thrive where there are security challenges.
