Obasanjo, Akpabio, others celebrate with Abiodun at 65
State Governor, Adedapo Abiodun, marked his 65th birthday with a thanksgiving service at the Cathedral Church of St. Peter, Ake, Abeokuta, Ogun State. Politicians, royals, friends, and family gathered over the week to grace the occasion.
The celebrant, dressed elegantly in a resplendent white agbada, danced joyfully down the aisle accompanied by his wife, Bamidele, as the church choir and Beejay Sax filled the sanctuary with a soul-lifting symphony of praise.
One of the highlights of the event was Governor Abiodun’s emotional speech, in which he expressed gratitude for life, leadership, and the overwhelming outpouring of love.
“Thank you all for coming. I especially want to thank Mr. President for his support, confidence, and trust in me. I read his tributes over and over again. I was in tears.”
President Bola Tinubu’s written message of goodwill was among several heartfelt tributes shared at the service.
Among the dignitaries was former President Olusegun Obasanjo, who delivered a warm congratulatory message, praising Abiodun’s leadership and service to the people of Ogun State.
Traditional rulers also added grandeur to the event, including the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo; and the Akarigbo of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, who offered their blessings and emphasised the spiritual and cultural importance of the thanksgiving.
The celebration also witnessed the presence of the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio; the Ogun State Deputy Governor, Noimot Salako-Oyedele; and other notable personalities.
