On June 23, some 150 cities from coast to coast will participate in the Olympic Day celebration, from Anchorage, Alaska to Philadelphia, New York and Boston, in an effort to highlight Chicago's quest. Events in Chicago will include two three-mile fun runs; competitions in such Olympic and Paralympic sports as beach volleyball, basketball, wheelchair basketball, volleyball, sit volleyball, soccer and kayaking; and appearances by Olympic athletes. The event will conclude at a night game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago White Sox at U.S. Cellular Field.
